About House of Refuge in Mesa

Categorized as a nonprofit organization, the House of Refuge has been serving the people of Mesa, Arizona, since the 1990s. This faith-based group provides shelter, food, education, job training and other amenities to homeless people. The permanent closure of the Williams Air Force Base has sparked the birth of this charitable entity in one of the largest cities in Arizona. The local government approved the redevelopment of the former military base into an affordable housing complex for eligible individuals.
